Summary
Under guidance, will create and analyze financial reports and ensure legal requirements compliance, process accounts payable and receivable and manage invoices and tax payments. Will accurately maintain company day-to-day financial transactions financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts and payments.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Preparing of monthly and quarterly financial statements, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Standards (GAAP).
- Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
- Checking the business entities’ invoices, all credit card transactions, authorization of expenditure ensuring each department spends efficiently within budget and savings where possible.
- Perform checks of posting process – Verify transactions are captured correctly in day book, suppliers’ ledger, customer ledger and general ledger.
- A contact with the banks ensuring authorized transactions.
- Enter data, maintain records and create reports and financial statements.
- Process accounts receivable/payable.
- Bring the books to the trial balance stage.
- Support in payroll process as required in a timely manner.
- Support tax preparation – work with current team.
- Prepare for and facilitate quarterly audits.
Experience
- BS degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
- Proven bookkeeping experience
- Experience in accounting software packages, like QuickBooks
- Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
- High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and organised
- Experience in MS Office
- Retail experience.
- Familiarity with company policies and legal guidelines of the field
- Detail oriented with strong emphasis on accuracy and organization.
- Ability to work long shifts.
